The house stands alone above the Maiden Loch with unsurpassable views across the sea to the Ross-shire mountains, also to the nearer Assynt peaks of Suilven and Canisp. The weather and light are always changing so, even if the tasks are indoors, the picture window shows the outside scenes.
There are always things to see in the constantly changing skies and loch. Watch for red deer, badgers, otters, moorland songbirds, buzzards, and golden eagles from the comfort of the cottage. The wild garden is full of a wealth of local flora* with clumps of wild thyme to scent the summer air (*orchids, violets, pansies, scabious, rock rose, buttercups, daisies, etc) |
